Need A Great College Counselor or Seek College Admissions Advice?

Authored by Kane Willis, Executive Director of Admissions Enrollment Strategy & College Partnerships, Kallege | Admissions Counseling

I have been guiding students and partnering with families through the college admissions process for over a decade as both an admissions officer at a highly selective institution and as a college counselor. My passion and excitement for college admissions, which stems from being a first generation to college student, in conjunction with my tactical analysis and keen insight has made me one of the most recognized names in college admission offices and sought after college counselors of my generation. I thank my mentors who have always been patient and willing to teach me all that they know who have been Deans and Directors of admission at places like Dartmouth College, Tulane University, Tufts University, University of Pennsylvania, Swarthmore College and many more. I have had the honor of giving talks and speeches alongside some of the most amazing admissions professionals within the field from places like Vanderbilt University and Stanford University to the National Association for College Admissions Counseling.

I have worked at some of the most prestigious and selective schools in the New York City and Greater Los Angeles areas known for having such passionate students and consistently producing impeccably well-rounded yet specialized students both in and outside the classroom. I have had the honor of strutting with artists from all arts backgrounds from audition to admission who ended up being admitted to some of the most wonderful and best arts schools out there such as: New York University — Tisch, University of Southern California — School of Dramatic Arts and the Rhode Island School of Design.

I have also had the joy of hustling alongside student-athletes from field to the stadium who ended up being recruited and admitted to some of greatest titans in D1 and D3 athletics at institutions such as: University of California — Los Angeles, Notre Dame University, Harvard University, Georgetown University and Wesleyan University.

Regardless of athletic ability or artist talent, I have worked with 119 students over the last 3 years who have garnered admission to all 8 Ivy League schools, all 9 University of California institutions, every 7 sister, all 5 Claremont Colleges, every NESCAC Liberal Arts College and every school ranked within the top 50! Acceptances include: Stanford University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Northwestern University, Duke University, University of North Carolina — Chapel Hill, University of Virginia, Case Western Reserve University and so many more incredible institutions. I have guided students and families through financial aid and scholarship processes, such as the Presidential Scholarship at the University of Southern California and the Coca-Cola scholarship. I have helped families needing financial aid who garnered acceptances to institutions whose admission processes meet 100% of demonstrated need and posse no loan policies. I have also guided students through the Questbridge and Posse processes utilizing my experience as a former Questbridge liaison.

I now seek to work with families outside the confines of a college or high school because it allows me to focus and fully support that student and families college process. My college counseling company is called Kallege. I will work with any student regardless of grades or extracurricular achievement through the college process because, despite what ALL of the other kids are “doing” and all other parents are “bragging” about, there is something incredible about everyone and it brings me utter joy to partner alongside with families and help them be admitted to colleges and universities they never thought would be possible. Feel free to email me at kwillis@kallege.org if you have questions about the college admissions process or seek to partner with me to help you through that daunting journey that is the college admissions process.
